Medemblik is the smallest and oldest town of West-Friesland. History tells a story of the battle against but also prosperity thanks to the water. You can take walk through the town and still admire the Golden Age monuments such as House the “Scheve Huis” with iconic seventeenth century stair-step gable. The historic city centre is surprisingly complete for its small size. You’ll find plenty of cute shops, operated by enthusiastic shopkeepers. Take a lovely stroll down the old town, in the park and alongside the marinas. It is possible to do a tour with or without a guide.
