On Tuesday April 16, Events Holland and Viking River Cruises welcomed the Mayor and its aldermen of Hoorn on board in the harbour of Hoorn, for their weekly meeting. Mayor Jan Nieuwenburg and the aldermen enjoyed a presentation of Rob van Loon (owner Events Holland) about the cruise hospitality programs that are organized in Hoorn for the cruise-guests. An annual total of about 60.000 guests are visiting Hoorn by river cruise ship this year. A huge part of this amount is from America, Canada, Australia and UK. The home hosted coffee visit that Events Holland organizes for Viking River Cruises is a huge success since it was launched in 2012. During this half day tour, guests visit the city with a guide and are welcomed in a house on walking distance of the ship, where they enjoy coffee, tea, Dutch apple pie and a good talk with the house owners. Guests rate it as one of the highlights of the Tulip and Windmills cruise. With a huge network of 65 home adresses and 35 local tour guides Events Holland is able to handle a huge amount of tours offered in and around Hoorn. Furthermore, Hoorn City Tours is taking care of the transport by 100 % electrical vehicle between the ship and the coaches (bus parking Nieuwe Wal).
