Since it’s opening in 1938, the Kröller-Müller Museum, only a 30-minutes’ drive from Arnhem, has grown into a renowned museum. It’s especially well-known for having world’s second largest Van Gogh collection and for harboring one of Europe’s largest sculpture gardens. But besides many famous Van Gogh paintings, such as The potato eaters and Terrace of a café at night (Place du Forum), the museum also houses acclaimed works by Renoir, Picasso and Mondriaan among others. In addition to its permanent collection, the Kröller-Müller Museum offers temporary exhibitions, making every visit different. And when in need of some fresh air, the sculpture garden is the perfect place to go. Spread out over the 25 hectares of green are 185 sculptures, from big to small, abstract to figurative! The museum invites its visitors to relax and enjoy the art 312 days a year, without experiencing the usual hassle of waiting in queues, time slots, time blocks and other limitations. Nowhere else in the world can one enjoy art so intensely as through this phenomenal collection and the unique location in an area of wonderful natural beauty!
