KVSA launches free Felison Terminal iPhone app

It has never been easier to stay up to date on what happens at the Felison Terminal and the Felison Cruise Terminal (located in IJmuiden, the Netherlands). KVSA, the company behind both terminals, officially launched an iPhone app devoted to all things Felison. From push notifications about arrival or departure times to conference documents, users have easy access to the last information on events at both terminals. The app is available for free in the iTunes App Store.

The Felison Terminal app comes equipped with a calendar that gives a quick overview of the terminal’s arrivals and departures. Users can access details on each individual voyage by simply tapping the ship they are interested in. In addition, by adding the voyage to ‘My cruises’, users will receive push notifications whenever new information (such as a new estimated time of departure) becomes available.

For tourists visiting IJmuiden and the surrounding areas, the Felison Terminal app contains personalised travel information. Based on a user’s location, the app shows nearby landmarks, shops, museums, restaurants and other recreational activities. In addition, with just a few taps the app provides turn-by-turn directions from any location to the selected restaurant or landmark.

The new app also has the latest information on conferences taking place at the Felison Terminal Cruise Lounge. The conference name, speaker details and relevant documents are all easily accessible. This allows conference visitors to get in touch with speakers by phone, e-mail or Twitter in just a few taps. Organisers can easily distribute conference materials to their guests through the app, ensuring they always have the latest information.

In addition to these features, the Felison Terminal app also contains general information on both the Felison Terminal and the Felison Cruise Terminal, such as a list of ships, floor plans, directions and a feedback form. The Felison Terminal app is available for free in the iTunes App Store and can be found at http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/felison-terminal/id538725924.

The new iPhone app was published by KVSA (Koninklijke Verenigde Scheepsagenturen van Halverhout & Zwart en Zurmühlen B.V.), which is in charge of both terminals and the related facilities. For the Felison Terminal app KVSA partnered with mobile developer Tjuna V.O.F.

Zee- en riviercruises groeien als nooit tevoren in regio Amsterdam
De zee- en riviercruises in de regio Amsterdam lijken immuun voor de economische crisis. Zo noteerden Amsterdam en IJmuiden vorig jaar een gezamenlijk record van 187 calls voor zeecruiseschepen 144 in de hoofdstad en 43 op beide terminals in IJmuiden.

Den Haag, 13 maart 2013 Ondanks het moeizame economische klimaat groeit de cruisesector in Nederland gestaag door en sluit het jaar 2012 af met een stijging van 12% in het aantal cruisevakanties. Na een matige start in de eerste drie maanden heeft de markt zich snel hersteld hetgeen uiteindelijk resulteerde in deze sterke groei naar bijna 110.000 passagiers. Voor het eerst is de grens van 100.000 gepasseerd.

Topjaar voor zee- en riviercruises in Amsterdamse havenregio
In lijn met de afgelopen jaren kan de cruisesector in het Noordzeekanaalgebied terugkijken op een uiterst succesvol jaar. Dit bleek op donderdag 1 november tijdens de afsluiting van het cruiseseizoen op het viersterren motorpassagiersschip De Magnifique, georganiseerd door Amsterdam Cruise Port (ACP). De Magnifique lag voor deze gelegenheid aan de kade van Passenger Terminal Amsterdam (PTA).

Feestelijke doop riviercruiseschip A-Rosa Silva
Op maandag 2 juli is aan de Veemkade in Amsterdam het tiende riviercruiseschip van de Duitse rederij A-Rosa feestelijk gedoopt. De A-Rosa Silva (lengte 135 meter, breedte 11 meter) biedt plaats aan maximaal 186 gasten. Het schip heeft een wellness centre, een zonnedek, een restaurant met live cooking, twee bars en een winkel aan boord. Scheepswerf Neptun in Warnemünde (Duitsland) heeft de A-Rosa Silva gebouwd.

Eerste riviercruiseschip in Haarlem
Op 1 april meerde het 1e riviercruiseschip de Rigoletto af in Haarlem. De voorzieningen om riviercruiseschepen te kunnen ontvangen zijn het afgelopen half jaar aangelegd, met financiële steun van de provincie Noord-Holland.
